Jakarta, 3 August 2010 – After only a year of operating in Indonesia, PT CIMB Sun Life (CIMB Sun Life) marked yet another milestone when the company was named “Best New Company of the Year” in International Business Awards from International Stevie Award.
The International Business Awards are the only global, all encompassing business awards program honoring great performance in business. Based in the United States, the Stevie Award honours companies of all types and sizes and the people behind them, recognizing outstanding performance in the workplace worldwide.
CIMB Sun Life got the award as a result of some key achievements including:
- Its speedy establishment and comprehensive offering from the onset. It took only 4 months (March 2009 to July 2009) for CIMB Sun Life to become fully operational; and the company brought 4 product offerings through 2 distribution channels within a day of operations.
- Its shareholders’ commitment. CIMB Sun Life was launched amidst the global financial crisis, reflecting its shareholders’ strong vision, values and commitment to the company and Indonesia’s life insurance market.
- Multiple channel approach and continued rapid growth. CIMB Sun Life devised a unique, innovative and comprehensive approach to serving customers. The company now offers 7 products ranging from life, accident, health, education and investment/unit link through 4 channels and already serves around 30,000 customers.

Recipients of the International Stevie Award trophies were selected from more than 1,700 entries received from organizations and individuals in more than 40 countries. Honorees and winners were selected through two rounds of judging by business professionals worldwide.
